What Others Say…

“I experienced the true essence of what Yoga is”

“Undoubtably the most enlightening and profound yoga experiences that I have ever had. This range of incredibly insightful teachers and philosophers who’s beauty and knowledge was shared in abundance. The teachers on this programme have the ability to have you live and feel yoga from moment to moment. Inside of that process you can’t help buy look inward to see who you want to be as a teacher of yoga and how that impacts other people.

The breadth and depth of this programme offers far more than I could have ever expected. Not only did it expose me to the deeper philosophy of yoga and have me question who I was as a practitioner of yoga thus far, but it immersed me in it’s essence of yoga. And that’s what this course is. I found, I experienced the true essence of what yoga is and as a result my seeing, my feeling, my spirit has changed. It’s in my ‘being’ and for that I will always be grateful.”

Dionne Braham, UK

“I could have asked for no greater gift”

“Santosha has mad me realize the exceptional, strong, intelligent woman that I am. I could have asked for no greater gift. I will carry this month with me through good times, hard times, and unencumbered joy. Thank you.”

Sarah Helt, USA

“The course provided a life-changing education”

“I feel incredibly blessed to have com across Sunny and Santosha in 2012, and to have had the amazing opportunity to attend the YTT course in Canggu, Bali. The course provided a life-changing education that is difficult to put into words, leading to a calmer and more centred attitude to life. Even four months on, I draw on the lessons learned each day- with the knowledge of asana just the tip of the iceberg.

The amazing people are what makes this course a truly beautiful experience. Each participant is embraced as an individual, rather than another number as can be the case in other programs.

I thoroughly recommend the YTT200 course as a valuable investment in oneself, whether or not you plan to teach yoga. As cliched as it may sound, it is an opportunity to discover who you truly are.”

Kate Miller, Australia

“I have three words for you: GO. DO. IT”

“At first, yoga seemed so out of reach. For people living with persistent pain like myself, getting out of bed is tough. Becoming a yoga instructor seemed laughable. In my head, I was so intimidated. But my heart told me otherwise.

Coming to Santosha has changed my life. If you live with chronic pain, I have three words for you: GO. DO. IT. I walked away with the same heart and a completely different body. Thanks to Sunny, Peter and the rest of Santosha teaching team, I am free from the pain I have been experiencing for years.

You will never be forced to do anything that you feel uncomfortable with, you won’t be told “push through it” or any of that nonsense. I walked away from the YTT not only at peace with my body, but LOVING my body. Don’t be scared, don’t underestimate yourself. Just come prepared for a transformation.”

“One of the greatest experiences I’ve ever had.”

“It’s been several months now since I completed my YTT with Sunny and it was one of the greatest experiences I’ve ever had.
I’d lived a boys own early life, at various times raced karts then cars, briefly flown airplanes, run and worked cattle in the bush, stalked game, camped rough and partied hard, an unconscious but ‘fun’ life, all the while chasing selfish needs, desires and experiences.

My time sitting a Santosha YTT easily surpassed it all.

Sunny and her fantastic teachers’ have huge open hearts teaching a thorough syllabus in a compassionate environment. Such a loving and open space was held by our teachers it made it easy for us as students to open, stay open and be present, soaking it all in as well as having lots of fun, laughs and the most amazing time!

I’ve come away with a more thorough understanding of, and confidence to teach asana safely and appropriately, my rudimentary knowledge of anatomy and yoga philosophy have been greatly improved, I’ve learnt about other aspects of yoga I wasn’t really aware of and I’ve discovered an extended family I just hadn’t met yet.

I’ve acquired new tools for teaching that aren’t limited to the mat, as well as learning much, much more about myself and how we relate to each other.

At various times I was challenged, humbled and stimulated, confronted, conflicted and all the while embraced. Things bubbled out of no-where, feelings and emotions I didn’t realise I contained or could still access emerged. My body coursed with chemicals I didn’t even know it could produce, all the while enjoying the support of my wonderful classmates and beautiful teachers. Shaucha, Santosha, Tapas, Swadyaha, Ishwara-pranidhana.

For me these are the greatest of gifts, difficult, beautiful, incredible changes that started during our YTT and continue to evolve, their positive influence reverberating and touching all those around me.

This is the real gift of yoga.

Arrive with an open heart and a child’s mind. Be willingly led wherever the four weeks take you and the rewards can be sublime.
Thank you Sunny and all my wonderful teachers and beautiful classmates, your incredible openness, teachings and support have had a far greater influence than any of you realise.”

“My time with Santosha will always represent a significant turning point in my life”

“I completed the 200 hour Santosha Yoga Teacher Training in January 2013 and it was truly a life changing experience for me. My original intention was to further my knowledge and become a ‘yoga teacher’. I went into the training ignorant of what Yoga is, and by the end had come to understand and experience the true wonderment of Yoga. The door was opened to the greatest opportunity and gift of all – finding my true Self.

Santosha laid the path for the most amazing journey of self-discovery. I gained the confidence to challenge and confront all the issues I have never been able to acknowledge in the past and each day I learned something new about myself and others.

I learned more about who I am, about self created suffering, and how to accept and let go of all my stuff than I have ever learned in my entire life. My eyes are now open, I am present and am able see the deeply embedded patterns of negative thoughts and behaviours I had created that I was completely oblivious to in the past. This has enabled me to start to heal and grow positively as a person. My heart is open and I can accept myself for who I truly am.

The Santosha teachers have an amazing array of personalities and knowledge that blend together to provide a well-rounded training. It was obvious straight away why each teacher was chosen to teach their topic – their devotion, love and passion for it. The content of each class and the entire training was well thought out and delivered in such a way to allow plenty of time to absorb and reflect on the information and teachings delivered.

My time with Santosha will always represent a significant turning point in my life and for that I am truly grateful.”

“You’ve created a program that allows people to evolve in ways most of us would have never imagined possible.”

“There is so much I want to say to you and nearly not enough words to express it all. Firstly, thank you so much for the opportunity to be a part of such an amazing program!! I honestly came expecting simply to receive my teacher certification and maybe make some new friends… But in reality I gained so much more.

You’ve created a program that allows people to evolve in ways most of us would have never imagined possible. This may sound minor to some, but it is in fact huge. We learned about the body, about life and philosophy, and largely about ourselves and the strength we all carry within.

When you were teaching pre and post natal and speaking about empowering woman for their new ventures as mothers, I thought about how you had empowered all of us and prepared us for life in a way most people never may. As you spoke from the heart, I just felt more and more inspired. I hope that one day I can have even a fraction of that kind of effect in people’s lives and continue to spread the knowledge, strength, and love that you do. You are a truly special person! And in my eyes, a magnificent gift to anyone you come in contact with. Thank you for laughing with us, crying with us, and getting into funny positions with us!

I’ve begun the process of creating an influence for a structured yoga program within the Children’s Hospital for Children with Cancer.

I am forever grateful for your presence in this world and I feel very fortunate to have been one of your students!”

“This training was truly incredible!”

“Dearest Sunny and Santosha,

From the bottom of my spirit and soul THANKYOU for bringing me on this Indian adventure. I have learnt more this month about life and myself than any other time before including the YTT 200!

I am so grateful for the new friends I have made and to be part of another YTT with you and all the teachers. You such an inspiring guiding light who I’m so thankful to have in my life. Santosha is such an amazing family 🙂

This training was truly incredible!”

Indgrid Schroder Sydney

“I learned a lot not only about yoga, but about myself.”

“Thank you so much for the great journey that you enabled us to take. I learned a lot not only about yoga, but about myself. I was pleased to meet so many different yogis with different yoga paths at this training, so I could learn from their experience as well.

I wish for Santosha to grow and Sunny you spread the message and teachings of Yamas and Niyamas.

You gave me energy when I needed it most and let me develop at my own speed.

I wish you all health happiness and contentment!”

Martina Reinsh, Russia

“There is always a place in my heart for Santosha!”

“This experience in both YTT’s has been far more that I would have ever expected. I’ve learnt so much more about myself, friendships, my spirituality.

The teacher’s smiles and warmth and attitude makes me feel so grounded. It monkey ever takes over I will forever hear the voice in my head saying ‘Its all good’!

I so admire Santosha to spread the truth of Yoga to so many people. There is always a place in my heart for Santosha!”

Lily Stokely, California

“The teachers and course were incredible”

“The future belongs to those that believe in beauty of their dreams – Santosha is really truly the bloom of a dream. Thank you all for having that dream. The teachers and course were incredible, heart felt with so much knowledge shared from experience! I could not have asked for anything else to set my on my path!”

“I have learn to appreciate each moment as it comes and not to worry about the small things in life”

“I attended the 300 hour YTT with Santosha yoga school the course took place in incredible India, which was held during March 2013. I went to the course with some sad circumstances, but the team of Santosha was there for me I felt from day one till last day their support & love and this like an ocean. This course has inspired, challenged and pushed me to be more at peace with my physical practice, my spiritual and mental wellness. I have learned to appreciate each moment as it comes and not to worry about the small things in life. As well as the teachers training had helped me gain valuable knowledge into the art of yoga and yoga philosophy. This course will help anyone who is interested in exploring yoga and deepening their practice. I have noticed dramatic difference in my practice and peace of mind.

The asana classes are inspiring. There is a lot of focus on alignment, how to give instructions and adjusting students. The teachers are very approachable and take really good care of you, sunny & peter have a lot of experience and are very knowledgeable, they shared their knowledge with love. Children, pre & post natal and the pranayama teaching I received is so rich of knowledge and very helpful.

The meditation and Zen philosophy with Hamid was very interesting. Kirtan, mantra, yantra and the puja with Laya is not to be missed what a lovely lady. The journey was marvelous the experience I gained was and is tremendous more importantly, it has taught me the art of teaching and being a teacher, and continues to inspire me to learn more!

I am blessed to had this opportunity and thanks to all for this wonderful month!”

Miranda El Shentinawi, Dubai

“A great way for yoginis to prepare them selves and their students”

“The course has been fun and educative. A great way for yoginis to prepare them selves and their students for the journey of pregnancy to motherhood. It gave me a renewed sense of confidence and made me look forward to being pregnant.”

Melisa Nalo, Norway

“It’s the most beautiful thing.”

“What I loved most about the PPNCT training and all the training you did was the absolutely authentic voice you used. Using your own experiences to make the theory of teaching more accessible. You give your students space to be exactly who they are. It’s the most beautiful thing. Always grateful.”

Rhiannon Owen, Sydney, Australia

“I felt confident I could teach safely after doing the course”

“I would say the course gave me a valuable overview of every stage of pregnancy and the asanas and breath it would be appropriate to practice in each of those stages. The course focused heavily on keeping our students and their babies safe, which is a huge concern when teaching pregnant women, particularly in the vulnerable first few months. I felt confident I could teach safely after doing the course, and that I could guide my students into a practice that would be right for them depending on where they were in their pregnancy.

Along with safety I enjoyed the focus on supporting our pregnant students, not only physically through the yoga asanas and breathing, but also emotionally. The course was thoughtfully put together to integrate every aspect of a women’s pregnancy; the physical aspects such as body changes and medical symptoms as well as the psychological and emotional factors that we can expect to see in our students. The course empowered us to take into consideration all those aspects and to speak to them in our teaching, to fully support our students throughout their entire journey.”

Jennie Donohue,
Sydney, Australia

“I was extremely pleased with the depth of material covered”

“As with most things in life, the PPNCT course couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. I fell pregnant a week after completing the course and was fortunate to have been extremely well equipped for a pre and postnatal practice. The PPNCT was a highlight of my time with Santosha, and I was extremely pleased with the depth of material covered in a short amount of time, particularly in relation to prenatal practice. I didn’t expect to have said this prior to the course, but the class I am most looking forward to teaching upon my return is prenatal yoga, thanks to the valuable time I had with Sunny during the PPNCT.”

“The instructor was so encouraging, positive and inspiring”

“What an amazing experience! Practicing yoga in such a serene environment was a perfect combination. The instructor was so encouraging, positive and inspiring – she helped to create a wonderful atmosphere and was integral in creating such a fulfilling and rewarding activity. I’d love to do it every day! Thank you!”

“Being on that board out there on the ocean really helped me to connect to my yoga poses more intimately”

“I never thought I would practice yoga on a board floating in the middle of the ocean. Once I got my balance on the board, it took my yoga practice to a whole new level. Chantal coached me to trust in myself and just be in the moment and relax on the SUP. Which I did and being on that board out there on the ocean really helped me to connect to my yoga poses more intimately. Thank you Chantal for introducing me to SUP Yoga, I’m hooked!”

Ben Sassi, Geraldton WA

“In my first class I couldn’t stop smiling!”

“I had a great time on the SUP yoga training course! Learnt loads and met some great people, in my first class I couldn’t stop smiling! I hadn’t done a lot of SUP and Chantal was great, she taught the basics of paddling, safety for students and we had a great time trying out different Asanas on the boards! I would recommend the course if you want to make yoga that little bit more fun!”

“Santosha provided me with my own unique experience and with endless love and support to really let go”

“Six months ago, I made the decision that I needed to make Yoga a bigger part of my life.

I wanted to immerse myself in the practice and learn on an intellectual level the benefits Yoga provides as well as feel them myself. I wanted a spiritual journey (I had some healing to do, but had no idea how or where to begin). I wanted to be inspired to make change in my life and learn how to inspire others. After a series of events that left me somewhat broken the time was now. I searched the net and found so many places and groups who offered a full month of yoga, retreats and Teacher Trainings, however something kept pulling me back to Santosha. I now know why…

Santosha provided me with my own unique experience and with endless love and support to really let go – let go of any ideas of who I am and just ‘be’. My eyes were opened to many aspects of Yoga I had never encountered in my practice and my heart was filled with light and laughter. I was inspired by all the teachers and people around me and I learnt how to heal and watched as others did the same. Santosha has given me many gifts: teachings from afar, tools to cope with both the unknown and the known and last but not least friendships that will last. And of course I am now a qualified yoga teacher with the confidence to teach from a depth of knowledge and to quietly – in my own way – inspire those who want to learn.”

Jessica Bendall, Australia

“The teachers were amazing and there for us, giving us love every moment, teaching us what yoga really means.”

“I felt really supported from the first moment of the course. I contacted Sunny many times during the application and had so many questions… and Sunny was always there to help me. It was a challenging course but the supportive learning environment was so great. The teachers were amazing and there for us, giving us love every moment, teaching us what yoga really means. They are dedicated to the students and helped us all to understand the subject, to feel with our body, and mind….

After the YTT, I felt confident about teaching and humbled by it at the same time. Doing this course has inspired me to further my yoga studies. The teachers inspired me to learn more and to enhance my own practice and my teaching skills.

I feel very grateful for having been able to live this experience and I highly recommend it for anyone, you will not regret it.”

“What I’ve learned this month will definitely change my life.”

“From our very first e-mail contact I knew that Santosha was the one and only school for me–and when I finally managed to take the long, long way from Europe to Bali, all my impressions were even topped. I still can hardly believe it…you are living what you are teaching, you are teaching life and it is all just love. I love your clarity and your talent to help others see clearer, too. What I’ve learned this month will definitely change my life.”

Lena, Germany

“Deep healing and surrender”

“Such gratitude for offering us this experience of growth and expansion. Deep healing and surrender for us all. The creation of this Santosha training is such a beautiful manifestation of all our dreams. Thank you for that. May we all go out in this vision of love spreading the light through yoga.”

Natalia, Italy

“I feel like a new door has opened in front of me”

“I’d like to express my gratitude for all the support from the teachers and students of my Santosha training, who are like my family now. I was worried about who I would be roomed with and having such intense yoga lessons. Everyone’s smile really helped me through. Sunny, thank you so much for your beautiful smile. Every time I see you you use easy English and some Japanese and use your body language so expressively. Thanks to such an openhearted teacher. You gave me so much energy. I feel like a new door has opened in front of me as I spent my time here. I will keep learning and bring as much light to open that new door.”

Yumi Oda, Japan

“Thank you deep from my heart for all the wonderful actions that are now possible”
